First off, hello. I just signed up to the forum, though I have been lurking around for a while. I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone with a vert thinking about stance coilovers to beware you will have to do a bit of cutting in the rear.

The ones I have, stance gr+, have dampning adjustment. On the front, its on the bottom side of the coilover assembly, but on the rear, its on the top. For the vert, this adjustment piece runs right into some support bracket/seat belt mount. Basically, you have to take a dremel and cut a section out about 1.5" up and down, and the same side to side. When, you fit them, you will see how much needs to be taken out. I tried to get pics, but they turned out like crap. But you can go about cutting in 2 ways, first, just start hacking away, or 2nd , do what I did and have a friend kind guide you through the cuts. Its not a huge deal, but it was something I didn't know I would run into and had to go looking for a dremel at my friends house.

Here are some ****ty pics I took of the results...

BEFORE on Tein HR's and gramlight 57pro 17x8 +35 and volk something 16x7 +35

And AFTER on stance gr+ with weds sports 16x7 +25 w/ 10mm spacer and volk something or other 16x8 +35

Yea I just did a search with "stance" as a title, and didn't get anything. I didn't know what else to search for.

But thanks for the compliments. I have yet to make up my mind what wheels I'm going to keep on the car. I like the weds sports, but the volks are being sold today and I may be getting an unknown brand 16x7 in the next few days since I'm fresh out of wheels. Just something to get me by for a while.

But I took some more pics this morning of me leaving my driveway.

::WARNING::These pictures were not photochopped in any way, shape, or form. Please use caution when attempting manuvers like these.

You think your driveway sucks?

BTW, it has already been brought to my attention that my roll bar isn't legal. Thanks for noticing . However, I didn't have any problem passing tech for the local drift days. Though I can't tandem with my setup, I'm not ready to anyway. I'm planning to do some other things first, but eventually take that junk to the steel yard and get what I can out of it and have a real one built.

I posted pics somewhere before, but can't find the thread. Here you go.

This is how it looks like from the rear wheel well. Metal bracket is right above the hole.

I cut it like this.

Bent it a little bit.

Looks like this once rear coilover is in. Mine is Stance GR+ Pro. It would have been nice if the knob on the coilover is not so tall like that.

Above pics are from passenger side. Driver's side is different. You will see seat belt mechanism is also on the way. I used Dremel to cut the corner and it worked just fine.

I'm going to cut the bracket nice and neat with Dremel when I replace my top in the future. I'll also clean up and paint rear seat area just like JRD did.

Good stuff, nice pics. I never even thought to document mine, but I did the same thing when I installed my coilovers.

If I have to do this again, I rather cut some thread and fabricate the end of it with Dremel, so knob can be attached right. Cutting it out half an inch won't cause any trouble I guess.
