stalling when idle

my 91 240 recently started to stall , and i was curious as to why it was doing this. Sometimes when i turn on the car, it will turn on then cough and the revs will go to about 400 and then drop to 0. Other times i'm just pulling out of gear (using clutch) into neutral and instead of the revs dropping from say 4000 to 750, it would drop from 4000 to zero, and stall. Also when the engine stalls the check engine light stays on until i turn the car back on. is it the fuel filter?

aac valve, happened to mine, happened to about evrybody else too...its a ***** to fix

awww man...aac valve?? why's it so hard to fix? should i take it somewhere instead of fixing it myself?

Try cleaning the AIV. That is pretty easy to do. I did it about a week ago.

that happen to me like 2 days ago but I had water in spark plug cap area. Well it took me an hour to clean it out and start driving again.
