stalling sputtering loss of power, help!

A couple of days ago i was driving down the street and suddenly i felt a loss of power, as i pressed the throttle more and the car started to sputter and jurk wildly(2000rpms). i depressed the clutch and the car instantly died. The motor started up fine, but was idleing very strangely. It would go from 700rpms down to 0 and jump back up to 700 and go back down to 0 until the car would finally stall out(grey smoke pouring from exhaust). Despite of this i drove off. the car would die every time it was in nutural. When i got home it was running great, after about 30 min the same problem, but then it would go away again. maf mabe?

yeah my car did the same thing yesterday except now it wont start. when i turn the key on the ECCS relay starts buzzing and will keep buzzing until i unplug my battery. when the relay was buzzing i grabbed it and it was vibrating hella bad like it was gunna explode.

most probably a IACV problem, im too lazy to try and fix mine, its hard to get to and clean

problem fixed......i tried everything new pump injectors filet plugs wires cap rotor.....EVERYTHING......test your knock sensor connector u should have 5 on the multimeter if not (i had like 3.2) get a 1 watt or 1 mega ohm resistor and hook it up to white wire comin from clip....Now you fixed it....pass it on....temp fix tho

improve gas mileage?

yeah my s13 does the same thing, it is a intermittent problem though.it mostly does it below 2k rpms and just sputters and shakes when I hit the gas. when checking the knock sensor are we looking at volts or ohms? and is this with the key on or off? also when did all this stuff start happing to you guys? mine started when I moved from washigton to so-cal I wonder if its the heat or fuel that I used.
