I have had a stalling of the engine around 35-40 MPH?? i have for 3 days now. Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem. i haven't had a chance to call the dealer yet, so I'm not moving it yet tell i hear from them. it kind of feels like a piston is misfiring and it looses power... Let me know if anyone has heard anything about this.

Does the slip light on the dash turn on when this occurs?

mine has not stalled out....but it did have this weird stubblinh hesitation a few times when i started it in the morning. I dropped it off to get checked out and they said they couldnt find the problem.

Also on the highway going around 80-90 mph and hitting the brakes hard to slow down fast the cars rpm's stay up for a few seconds reving high. has anyone had this happen?

I am actually taking mine into the dealers for this very same problem on Tuesday. It doesn't do it all the time, but when I stomp on it going onto the highway, right at about 40mph there is a dramatic cutoff in power - enough where it jerks me forward. Again, it doesn't do it all the time but when it does its annoying to say the least.

I haven't been able to reproduce the problem if I turn off the VCD and put it into DS so I don't know if its a real issue or just the VCD being to particular. I'll post back after I get the car back from the shop and let you know what they say.

I just got my car back and the only thing they told me is that they are starting to see many problems like this with not only the new G35 but also the M. They were not able to fix the problem but the receipt they gave me just says that infiniti is aware of the problem and they are investigating. I guess they are going to call me when they figure out a way to fix it. I think its a buch of crap that i have to deal with this considering its a brand new car and the only thing they can tell me is that it might take up to 4 months for me to hear back. Im going to call infiniti and see what else i can find out.

Hmm... Wonder what they will tell me when I pick mine up in the morning. If they don't mention that it becoming a known issue I'm not going to be happy. We shall see.

The Actual paper work states: "Car surges around 40 MPH INFINITI IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND IT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION."thats what I have in writing

I'm going to call Infiniti tomorrow and see what else they can tell me, or at least get some sort of estimate how long before i get it fixed. i dont want to be running it like this for 3 or more months.

As long as (I would assume) they know that they would be held accountable for any injury/accident should one occurr due to this issue.

Id be happier with that than a work order to the roof with no positive result. That writing means that Infiniti knows about the issue and know that is present across their model range, not just your specific car. Now hope to god it doesnt happen, but if something does happen to you or the car infiniti is accountable and you will be compensated.

Now being that it is a new car, it is bound to have glitches and problems, just like any new product. If they are working on it, then im positive that they are working on it. It would mean money out of thier pocket if it doesnt get fixed, like and business, they will do what they can to prevent from losing money. You may just have to wait it out.

I agree. You should see some of the glitches that they fixed on the early Q45s - and really with all of their new models. One thing that Nissan does very well is correct widespread issues by issuing TSBs with a fix researched and specified by the engineers at the factory. Other than burying their heads in the sand (or somewhere else) on the plastic timing chaing guide issues of the early Q45 and a few other engine, they are very proactive.

It doesn't make it any easier when you just forked out $3Xk for a new car, but I'm sure they'll find a cure.

Good luck!

Well, I just picked mine up from the shop. They have had it since Tuesday because they needed to order a rubber trim piece for the sunroof - the sunroof ate this particular piece and spit it out at me... This they did say was a wide spread issue. So if your sunroof starts going slow while opening or closing expect a piece of rubber to drop down on your lap at some point in the near future.

As for the sudden drop in power they said that there were no codes in the system to show anything being wrong. I told him what your Infiniti dealer had said about it being a known issue. My service guy double checked whatever it is that they look at but could find nothing to say that Infiniti knows about it or is planning to do anything about it...

Did you call Infiniti? If you did, what did they say? I may have to call them myself.

Thanks!

Well, he basically said that they didn't see any codes and there was nothing he could find from Infiniti so there wasn't anything he could fix.... He said if it gets worse to bring it back

I used to have this cylinder missfiring on my SAAB 9-5. They had to replace couple of things in the car 2X in 4 years the same things. It was under warranty. I was just hoping not to see that again. Now you guys are telling me it is happening to the G also. AHHHHHHH

I have had this simiar issue a couple times with my journey... Not sure what caused it, but it did not happen every time... this has only happened to me when I ROMP it in normal drive mode... this has not happened to me in DS Mode. Please keep us updated if anything new arises from this as I'm curious to see if I should take any action.

As far as the stalling out in the morning issue... I have had this happen several times as well... if you throw it into reverse before the engine settles down the idle to about 1200RPM's then it will drop heavily (Below 500 RPM) for just a second... I have found that letting the car "warm up" until the idle settles (10Seconds) resolves this issue...

Got my problem taken care of with a reflash at the dealer and a re-learn of the mixture. Runs like a bat outta hell now and no more hesitation.
