I have a 1995 q45 that has stalling problems. It used to start back up after about 20 minutes, but now is dead. I've put in a new fuel pump and module(used). The old module a pin burned out. But it still will not start. The MAF looks good,I don't know what to do next. Will appreciate any ideas.

Mine did that out front of Walmart fully loaded with frozen foods. After trying to let her start on her own I just gave it gas to about 2000rpm for 2min.Hasn't happened since....Oh one more thing, when I was trying to let her start on her own.with the headlights on,she wouldn't die down as fast as with em off. Electrical????

The used FPCU looks fine, no burnt pins. I don't know how to test it or what to test it with.

Is the fuel pump coming on when u turn the key to on.. If not, something is wrong somewhere.. U should hear it running with the key in the on position. If you hear it,, time to move to something else.. If you dont.. Then we need to possibly ground the FPCU to see if it will run wide open.
1. Do you hear fuel pump turn on with the key in the on position.. You may only hear it for the first 5 secs, so play close attn.
2. If its on.. lets us know.. if not... let us know.!! (turn the radio off.. so u dont confuse antenna noise with fuel pump noise.)

You have to pull the trunk trim near the antenna there you will see the relay, have someone turn key while you feel and listen for click from relay.

Forgot, make sure you didn't pull the ground wire loose from the top of the fuel pump holder thing, the weld is kinda weak(dont ask).Check fuse also.

Switch out relay in trunk,it's supposed to click.Have you tried the method to take out the fpcu and run pump on high speed?

haven't changed the relay yet, can't get one until tomorrow, did try the by-pass and got nothing. I had trouble getting the connector off of the MAF, I was going to spray it but I couldn't get it off, didn't want to break it

hold on... You tried jumping the white wire?? As in splicing the white wire.. and tapping another wire into it and then grounding the other end to the body of car? Or you did something else. If you havent tried that.. i say give it a try.. Takes about 5 mins. Splice the white wire going to the FPCU (NOT CUT.. SPLICE!!) and connnect like a speaker wire to it... Then take the other end.. and ground it to one of the screws in the trunk. See if that works.. If it does... Let us know.. If it doesnt.. Still let us know.. But go to junk yard and buy another fpcu <-- (THATS MY OPINION) Not unless u know someone with the same kinda car and u can plug it into theirs and see if it works.
******* Just thought of something..:
On your old module, which pin burnt out??? Or which color wire connected to it if u dont mind me asking ...
The new fuel pump... New as in NEW TO YOU??? or new as in bought from autozone, oreilly.. etc??

On my old module, facing it, it was the top left pin that was burned. The method I tried to jump with was an alligator clip onthe lower left pin hole of the connector to an unpainted ground.

If you're bypassing the FPCU it takes the relay out of the circuit...the fuel pump runs on high speed only when the engine is started. Make sure you're jumpering from the correct pin on the FPCU connector as shown in the pic.

Have you looked at the fuse with a magnifying glass, or tested for continuity with a volt meter? Don't rely on a quick look as the break in the fuse can be so small you'll never see it with the naked eye.
