I'm having a bit of trouble debunking this issue that I'm having with my 240 but it doesn't help that my knowledge of cars is near to none.

So to describe what exactly happens is it normally happens when im in the high RPMs either from quick acceleration or from being on the highway. But sometimes when i clutch to either stop going faster or to just slow down because im coming to my exit the RPMs just drop right down to 0 and the car in a sense stalls. this is really dangerous because i lose my power steering and the hydraulic for my brakes. Of course i can always just start it back up but sometimes that won't be possible right away

So when i was trying to find out what cause it i first thought it was a battery problem because it seemed to happen when i braked, but that wasn't it. Then i thought it was a gas issue since the car had been sitting for like 3 months before i bought it and got it working so some water was in the tank and added rust into the gasoline mixture. I got some V-power from shell and i gave it a new tank of gas but that didn't remedy it.

On a side note my driver side automatic seat belt isn't working either (but the passenger side is) and i checked the wiring and manually powered the motor so they are all working fine, but when i latch the door while its open the second click (that triggers the auto seatbelt) it doesn't do anything

First off, the seat belt is probably still under warranty. If it's broken due to a component failure that is i.e. control unit or any other mechanical part. No warranty on wiring issues. Maybe check the door switch.

It sound to me like whatever controls the idle isn't doing its job. You may try cleaning the throttle body. Where the plate meets the inside of the bore, a build up usually forms. Get some carb cleaner and a rag and clean up the plate and the bore. Also you could try some injector cleaner and go for a short road trip. If that don't get the idle air in check you may have to check the idle air valve. Also there should be a screw to adjust the idle. Use this screw AFTER you clean out the TB. Good luck

i guess i should have mentioned this in my previous post but when the car is started it has what seems like the same issue where it cannot idle at all and it just dies (what i end up doing is just starting it and holding down the throttle a little bit or just put it into gear and go before it can drop down)

It also doesn't seem to be doing it much right not and i think its related to the large temperature drop we have had in the last 2 days

and for the info that you gave me a lot of it i didn't follow but i plan on looking some of it up

as for the injector cleaner i thought that's what the shell v-power does or was i mislead?

thanks for the info on the seat belt, ill give a call to the dealership near me tomorrow

thanks for the advice so far lol

Yea I'm not sure about V-power. Never done the research. I was just thinking maybe some BG 44k or the Nissan pour in injector cleaner. The short road trip (maybe two hours or so, interstate) will get the motor nice and hot and get that injector cleaner to really get a chance to do it's job. Carbon deposits can actually absorb fuel causing the cylinders to lean out. Hopefully the injector cleaner hill help with some of that. I'm not sure it this is all or some of your problem, but it's an idea none the less. Goodluck and keep me posted.

I will make that road trip once i get the money for that much gas and the injector cleaners (sad isn't it?)

But at the moment the car has more pressing issues like fixing the hand brake and replacing all the brake pads and both the rear wheels. It hasn't even passed inspection yet and today was techincally my last day >_>

I'll be making a seperate post asking about how to fix the hand brake assembly
