i have a 95 S14 with KA engine. its an auto about 3 weeks ago the check engine light come on, so i checked it and it was the distributor. i went to mechanic shop and replaced the distributor along with a burnt spark plug and a leaking gasket cover and new wires to connect the dis to the plugs. but the stalling consists, but in lower frequency.

2days ago i was driving on high way to get recycled distributor and i put the car in neutral the car died at around 60-70 mph... so i pulled over and try to start the car. the car starts like normal, but stalling/ shaking at red light start to become more frequent again. after i changed the distributor the car seemed fine and i thought that was the end of it. BUT nooo! it happend again!!!!!!!

today i saw some post about someone had a bad MAF which wont allow the engine to rev over 3500rpm. so i disconnected the MAFsensor to make sure my MAF is good. so ya, with out MAF car wont go over 3500rpm. so i guess my MAF is good, but when i plugged it back in the check engine light came on again and this time it was the MAF sensor!!!!

I dont know whats wrong with it now. you guys seems very professional about nissans and i love my S14, so please help me out.

If you plugged the MAF back in and the MIL came on, replace the MAF. You should be able to find a used one in our large classified section and at a reasonable price.

thanks man. i will go find MAF tomorrow if i can. but i just want to ask whats the cause of stalling at red lights? because the first time the check engine light came on it was camshaft position sensor(which is inside of the distributor), thats what the mechanic thought is causing the stalling problem. but after we put on a good distributor the stalling consists. which is confusing the heck out of me. because after we changed the distributor the check engine light went off. we are just running out of ideas of what is causing this problem, and i want to fix it soon. so thanks for any suggestion/ ideas of finding out whats wrong with the car. Thanks again!
