if this is true for all ss lines...i would think the 240 community would have a lot of first hand experience with problems like that due to the number of z32 swaps with ss lines. my ss lines should be getting to my house today...so i hope the problems not that severe.

Wow...mine were DOT approved, but now I have to work in an inspection schedule for them...I guess I am a fool, i thought they were like "bullet-proof".

Which is why the technafit lines that SPL sells are great since they have an outer covering to protect the steel braids. Hehe free promotion for SPL!!

Yes, just to clarify... our lines do have an outer protective covering to prevent dirt from prematurely wearing the line.

In response to this guy's claim that the lines are "dangerous", just keep in mind that with 2 to 3 years of track usage, hard daily driving, and alot of milage you need to replace items as necessary.

Why because of high line pressures? The fault isn't withen the line pressure, it's withen the line's design. Some are better than others.

Our lines also have correct length, this prevents the 2nd common cause for line failure and thats inadequate movement causing binding friction.

When you think about it... which would you rather have.

New Stainless Steel Braided Teflon Line w/ Covering

or.

OEM Rubber Lines (that are 6 - 15 years old)

From the way this guy is rambling on and on I think if a rock or piece of road debris hit his OEM lines and ruptured it he would be out spouting off about how we need brake line shields.

ive had SS lines on my old 200sx, with the nx2000 upgrade. and i abused the hell out of them.. they held up perfectly, and 2 years later, i took them off, sprayed them down with brake cleaner, and they still looked brand new, with no immediate show of brake line failure. no leaks.
