ask adrian

how exactly do you define fit? do you mean sitting flush? are you running coilovers?

whos are you looking at? the biggest i saw in the data base was broadfields (18x8.5 +32) and zenkicams (18x9 +24)

lets do some math shall we.

with broadfields +32 means the wheel sits 32mm or 1.25" inside, so thats 5.5" of inner clearance (i think its called front space)

on zenkicams, 18x9 +24 sits with 5.44" inner clearance. he even says he runs a 5mm spacer for brake clearance.

your asking to run an 17x9 +27. thats 5.56" of inner clearance. thats a 1.52mm difference from broadfields.

maybe it'll fit. just get 17x9 +17 all around

If you go with the 8's up front, you may want to be (I would suggest) running a small spacer, about 8-10mm.Now, for the 9's up front, I found that a +17 offset was sitting too close to my coilspring (Teins) so I threw in a 3mm spacer. While everything cleared, it just seemed to me that the fronts still protruded a bit more than the rears. It may just be the overall shape of the fenders, because looking from behind, the stance looked very good. I am not partial to running excessive camber either, and using my rather conservative alignment settings fitment was quite easy.

obviously, 17x9+20 has more suspension clearance than 17x9+27 (7mm's more).

but it also has to do with the suspension itself. Different coilover brands have different spring diameters. 17x8" +28 should fit like cake. I wanna say 17x9+27 can fit like cake too, but like I said, it might depend on the type of suspesion you're running.

however, I can tell you off the bat, 17x9+27's will fit in the rears with no clearance issues.

also, it should be nothing that spacers wouldn't be able to fix. And i'm talking probably 10mm or less (if needed)

brake caliper clearance is almost never relavant to wheel size or offset. It all has to do with the spokes and what disc type they are... in regards to like 3pc or 2pc wheels, generally speaking high disc types are the ones you'd use up front, especially if you're running a big brake kit or something.

Honestly, I think his concern would be more with the suspension clearance than brake caliper clearance. I don't know what kind of calipers he has, but I can't imagine a wheel that doesn't clear stock calipers, lol :p

hehe no worriez.

oh, and also, let me add that if you're running a spring/shock set up, you'll have more clearance than if you were running coilovers.

yeah at the moment i am on a spring/shock setup but would eventually like to go to coilovers somewhere down the line.. the plan was 17x9+27 in front and 17x9+17 in back... also i might sound like a noob here but i never understood how coils gave you less clearance since they are smaller then a spring/shock setup... all replies are appreciated fellas.

oh and if i have to get +17 all around i will.. i just think staggered is sexy.

well, on spring/strut setups, the spring sits above the wheel/tires. On coilovers, the spring is right next to the wheel/tire (which is where the clearance issue is).

honestly, I'd recommend just going with +17's all around. They'll sit much closer to the fenders, which is very similar in regards to fitment on all 4 wheel wells. And yeah, some staggered setups look nice if you can tell by looks of lip or concave, but a set up that has a difference of 10mm on offset, I doubt you can tell, cept now you'll have 2 wheels flush, and 2 wheels not so flush.

What wheels are we talking about anyways?

what wheels are we discussing? id probably just go for 17x9+17 all around. you would t have to deal with all these clearance issues and it would sit more flush i think.
