Staggered wheels on M35x? Anyone?

I searched and it seems a few people said its possible but most post were pretty old so I thought maybe by now someone has done it. I don't see any concern myself as long as its the same tire height. Plenty of german cars have it with no problems.
Reason I'm asking is because my uncle has a set of wheels that could be mine.
