Hi guys,

In a bit confused on running a staggered set of wheels on a AWD car. Has anyone here done such a sin? I get the concern with AWD cars, I've owned Subaru's and always run square sets and I'm doing the same with both infiniti cars that I have.

Just wondering

Thanks

Andy

This topic has been covered a few times in both the Y34/Y50 and Y51 forums...just gotta search. I don't recommend it but some say as long as you maintain certain tolerances you're good.

if your total wheel diameter (including tires) are the same front and rear, you're gonna be fine

I haven't ran staggered on my my M56x yet but I have ran staggered wheels on my old G35x. I had zero issues with that setup and the overall diameter front vs rear setup was 0%. I hear you have to be within 3% tolerance between the front vs the rear wheel/tire setup.

Front:
20x9 +32
245/35/20

Rear:
20+10.5 +42
285/30/20

Thanks for the reps guys. I'm sure there was some threads on this just wanted to hear from people who are doing it.

Just was going to ask you CRV what sizes you are running but you have that in your sig.

What are the offsets of your wheels, looks sweet by the way.

I've run a few a few staggered setups on my 14 Q70 AWD with no issues

With GTR wheels, I ran 235/40 on the front, 265/35 on the back
With 22's I ran 245/30 and 295/25

For the front its +32 (20x9) and in the rear its +42 (20x10.5).

You can ran those specs and also clear the Akebono calipers if your car came equipped with them

Plenty of AWD cars come from the factory with staggered setups like Maserati S Q4, MB E63S, GT-R, Q50 RS400. As mentioned above keep the overall height the same, best to keep it the same as the factory tires. The online wheel/tire calculators make it easier.

For some pics of what members here have done check this thread, no AWD V8s staggered but most if not all of the 20" setups will work on an M56xS.
