Okay, sorry. This has probably been answered already, but I can't get the forum search to work at all. I click.. and nothing. It's probably the computer I'm on the effing everything up.

So.. a few questions. (Sorry if they're dumb, too. But I don't know much about rims and tires.)

Can someone.. please.. tell me what the hell a "staggered" rim is?

What's the stock rim size on an '89 S13?

And.. there's a little problem with my car. Maybe I can get some help diagnosing it. It rides rough, do I need new shocks.. springs.. struts. Wtf? As far as I know I have stock suspension.. I KNOW it's not lowered, but the front springs seem to be very close to the tires and when I hit a speedbump or a pothole or even rough road in general(going around 35-50mph) the car gets quite a bit harder to handle. I don't like go out of control or anything, but it is very unnerving when there's an oncoming car.

staggered just means your youre running bigger tires or wheels in the back than the front. ex: Front: 235/45/17, Back: 255/40/17.

as for your car. just take it to a shop and get a 20 point inspection or have them look at the suspension or something. it could really be anything

ya, like pandapants said, stagger basically means to have wider wheels/tires in the back and smaller up front.

In my honest opinion, unless your drag racing or something, you really don't need a staggered set up.

it sure as hell sounds like its your struts. but get your suspension checked out, could be shot bushings as well.

The spring is close to the tire because it is a macpherson strut design.Your description is a bit vague. Does it bounce uncontrollably? does it bottom out?
