Now things are usually broken into stages. I'm asking for suggestions what a stage one would consist of? Basically that is. I have it set up as....

HeadersExhaustIntake

Now that is pretty basic but what else can I add on to it before it goes Turbo which would probably be stage II. :P

And on another note. I've often heard its' not worth getting the intake pipe, just change the filter head...is that true? and if so which would be recommended for the KA engine? Thanks!

Stuff like;

Cams/ valve springsHigh flow catDifferent plugs/wiresPerformance IgnitionPorted intake-headValve jobHigher compression pistonsGet rid of mech. fan and put a electric setup with maybe alum. rad.Lower temp. thermostat (somebody maybe knows the ideal for a Ka. Maybe 170?)Underdrive pulleysLightweight flywheel with a "Stage 1" clutchModified ECM for all this stuffB&M short-shifter (doesn't add power, but would increase accel)Synthetic oils wherever possible

As for the intake, I suppose just adding a cone filter would probly add close to the same power as a intake set up. I personally would try to hook up some sort of ram air.

if your going to turbo the car then don't bother with header, you'll be buying another one to mount the turbo.

and dont go with high compression pistons you wont be able to boost too much without extremely good tuning

also you'll want to install a metal head gasket and o-ring the block, you can get a pro copper SCE head gasket for 50-60 dollars depending on thickness, go thicker and you can reduce the compression ratio further.

stock headgaskets have been known to handle alot of boost. but if u can get a thicker gasket to lower compression thats a plus
