OK guys Im considering taking out my stock clutch and replacing it with a stage 1 clutch upgarde. my question is will any one stage 1 clutch be able to support 227ft. lb and what kind of bite does the clutch have? I am running xs turbo kit on my car and the stock clutch is slipping whenever it heats up from a hard run. I love the smooth engagement of the stock clutch but I need the upgrade. I hear that a stage 1 clutch will add 10% more bite over stock. Any help will be appreciated. Just to clear up what Ive been trying to say:Will a stage 1 street clutch be sufficient for 227ft. bl minus the slipping? How harsh over stock is this clutch?

Are you talking about Spec clutches? They have stages, for ACT I believe they have street/strip and racing AFAIK.

I would go with stage 2 Spec. I have heard of problems with stage 1, and although the stage 1 would be able to handle the 227ft-lbs, it wouldn't last as long.

From what I hear the Stage 1 and 2 SPEC clutches feel almost 100% like stock, so you should be good. They both have full street discs. I have a stage 3 pucked (350+ft-lbs) and it is harder to drive, but once it is broken in it is supposed to get alot better. Just about 200 more miles to go!! :)
