Started coming on when the weather cooled in the morning. Goes off after a while when the car is warm.

Cool is relative - I live in Arizona, so we're talking 50s.

ideas? Of course it starts at 36,500 miles....right after that goes out of warranty.

Follow up on this....

the brake idiot light was coming on too...Pads are getting thinner and I added a little brake fluid to the MC, and both lights went out. Odd that the stability control would throw an error because I was a tablespoon low on brake fluid, but that seems to be the issue.

If I read it correctly the The stability control system uses differential wheel braking to assist in steering the vehicle in the intended path so any loss of brake fluid could jeopardize the systems ability to correctly do its job.

Yep, pads are getting thin and the brake fluid fell just below the magical level.

no issues since adding a couple ounces of fluid. Brake pads will be done soon. Not on the squeakers yet though.
