Yep... Thats what the title says... some dude got stabbed, with a meat thermometer ( ), in the neck at a movie theater after he initially told the attackers to quiet down during a movie. He is still in the hospital, his injuries are far from trivial.

Wow, what the hell is wrong with people.

Precisely why I would generally rather watch at home. I can pause the movie if I'm interrupted/for food/to piss, and I don't have to deal with obnoxious characters ruining the experience for me. I'm always amazed how pissed the offender gets when confronted. As if you're the d-bag because he's ruining the movie for you...

This is exactly why you don't mess with people...if you have a problem at the movie theater talk to management about it and they can take it from there without the people who are being douche nozzles knowing who dun it.

So get up and leave the movie to go out and find management? Now I'm missing at least 5 minutes of it. Probably the safer bet, but still ruining the film for me. You're kind of in a lose-lose position here.

No, you are completely right. It's an easy choice for me, I watch the movie at home.

But, if I'm at the theater, I guess it would depend on what the offender looks like (crappy argument, I know).

Now that I think about it, we're missing the important part here. Who the hell has a meat thermometer at a theater? If I were to feel so inclined as to stab someone at the movies with one, I'd have to drive all the way home first. That's not really an item I travel with in my car...

This is why you should always bring a gun to the movies.

i read the article from another source that said they left the theater and got the thermometer, i'd assume it was a mall theater and they just went to some appliance store.

Fair enough. That was my other thought. At the theaters by me, I wouldn't even know the closest place to buy a thermometer. I'd probably be gone for at least 30 minutes (at which point I'd probably cool down and not want to stab the guy anymore).

Definitely a WTF deal.

Bex and I were just talking about this the other day, I'm the type to ask politely (first) and then kick it up a notch...

Now I gotta worry about some cowardly puss blindsiding me with a freakin' kitchen utensil?

Life w/o possibility of parole would solve his issues... maybe if punishments were a little harsher, the deterrent effect would return.

yea, damn gangster rap...oh and if i wanna stab anybody my knife is always close by...but i have a little more restraint than someone who leaves a movie theater and goes to the store, buys a meat thermometer and then goes back to the theater just to stab a dude who told his female friend to keep it down.

that dude needs psych help.

I've asked politely, but then the people who do it usually are in a group so I go off insanely at first. Gotta be the bigger man.

No thats why you have a concealed hand gun license. So when the stabbing begins you finish him with the 9mm.

Seriously this world is getting out of control. Few months ago my dad had a gun pulled on him in our own parking lot at work. My dad had his gun on him but choose not to do anything because my little sister was there and didnt want her to see that.
