Hey, guys. I was thinking of buying a SSV Kinetix V+, but I know it's supposed to increase 20% in volume for the intake manifold. But do you think I can add in more space by buying a Motordyne Spacer for it? I don't know much about SSV Kinetix haha, but just wondering if those two would be a good combination for my Injen Cold Air Intake.

The Kinetix SSV Plenum and Kinetix V+ plenum are 2 different things.

SSVhttp://kinetixracing.com/index...&HS=1

V+http://kinetixracing.com/index...&HS=1

I would stay away from the SSV plenum. It is too expensive and gives little or no gains. Some say it actually takes away power.

If you buy the V+ plenum you really don't need a spacer. I called kinetix and they said if you already have a spacer then it wont hurt to use both. They said the gains aren't worth the money for both if you combine them. So use one or the other.

I think Motordyne has a whole article on the volume differences and gains.

The 5/16 made the biggest difference, but the gains dropped by the inverse square or cube of the increase in spacer thickness.

So basically, the 5/16 sees the biggest change. Each size larger will still see gains, but they will be minimal.

If you want the SSV you can try it for 30 days with a money back guarantee, so i would recommend getting it DYNO'd after install to see what the results are. There is rumor that they SSV takes away power, but Kinetix claims the accusations are from poorly tuned FI applications, which is all i have ever seen bad results for. Plus they back it with a lifetime warranty.

I have the V+ plenum on my Z. Didn't want to spend the money on the SSV when the gains are to close to spend an extra $500 for the SSV (for N/A application). For turbo, the SSV gets way more gains than the V+ will. I chose the V+ over the spacers because they are after the same thing, but instead of adding a spacer (adding weight) you actually reduce weight buy changing out your stock plenum for a bigger one made of composite plastic.

Spacers are not a bad buy though, its really up to you what you want for your ride......
