ssues adjusting coilovers

trying to raise my car since the snow is coming soon. the the fronts raised no problem...the rears are a whole other story. all summer i had a 3/4" gap, now ive adjusted the spring collars almost as much as it can go, and adjusted the shock by about 2inches. now when i put the wheel back on and drop it...i still only have a 3/4" gap...what am i doing wrong?!?!? someone help

Did you adjust the preload or the shock?

im assuming i adjusted the shock. i loosened the 1 collar and turned the tube by hand. the spring is still tight in there, not loose at all
