Now, I want you all to take a vow not to advertise this senstive information that I'm giving you. Raise your right hand and repeat after me....

I, (say your name), promise not to divulge any of this kicka$$ information that MR. RELIFORD is so nice to pass along because he's a player and a true Nissan Enthusiast. If I do drop a dime may my eyes be sucked from my head and eaten by a rabid goat.

Now that that is out of the way, read this and weep. On my desk is an official letter from Nissan North America, Gardena, CA....it states that starting next quarter, NISMO parts will be available in the U.S. Market. Next month I'll receive another memo about this. I'm thinking that this means the US Skyline is not far behind.

What do you guys think?

But the Skylines that Nissan ships over will be the R35....which is basically the 350z....You can already get all the Nismo parts you want through a catalog....of course having them actually off the shelf would be nice...

If you really want a GTR just buy one from Daunttless like I am...

Do you know the trouble trying to get a NISMO part from the catalog when you live in Nowhere, TX? And the US Skyline will have to be a level up from the Z so we may be looking at a competitor for the super charged domestics. A factory turbo 350, so far, is just a myth. More importantly, being a Z car let's you know it won't be in production for years to come....a US Skyline, boosted power, is what we need. the head guys know it too.

Finally!Rumors have abounded for a couple of years.I remember asking a parts counter guy at the local Infinti dealer when the NISMO parts are coming and he asked:"What's that?"

Arent you in the military? And in japan?

I thought if you were military, you could ship the car back without paying alot of fees and stuff, but you were not allowed to sell it. Is that true? Should check up with some commanding officer or importer personal or something.

Um no offense, but this is not new news by any means. Nismo International annouced this at the SEMA convention in October of 2001. So if any U.S. dealers didn't know about it between October of 2001 and now, they are just plain ignorant. I was at the convention when they announced it, the article was in Automotive Engineering , and also been discussed on many forums, INCLUDING the NICO forums. It may not be in the "search" you run on Nico, because it's such old news, all the threads about it were on the old NICO site.

My appoligies to those who are hearing it for the first time, but it is by no means a "shhhhh secret."

I know all the rules for importing Skylines personally from Japan, you just can't give it to TMO and let them ship it to California, cause you'll end up with the junking fee when they crush it right at the docks....MotoRex and DaunTTless are the only people I know of who import legally. So, since Dauntt is selling on the average of 10grand less then the nearest competition....might as well shoot him an email.

Problem is cheez, that was 2 years ago. We waited 8 years for an X-Men movie and 3 for a Matrix sequel. Unfortunately, some people (the public, not dealerships) don't alway's have this information or it's not in their ears everyday so they forget. This was just a friendly "reminder" for those like you who already knew it. But for those who didn't know, let them have there moment.

Thanks.

Torry,

yes the rumors have been here for 2 years. But what I think is significant that the rumors are now official and an actual start date is set.

I thank Jayson for pointing it out.

Using freds box:Fred IIRC even when nismo comes out fully they wont be available under that name at infiniti.... Since they arent nissans (to the average american), they also have a different name for the performance parts line...

I really wish I could remember the name they use.... But from what I know even if you order this youll get a nismo part... I rember joking with him about a scenario where someone comes in and orders the infiniti performance line (now im going to have to call him and get the name damnit) and when it arrives they hand them a nismo unit. Only to have the guy look at the parts guy and say " what the hell is this? I dont want some inferior nissan part" hehe.

I'm letting the newbs have their moment, that's why I said no offense....

And this wasn't private information until now. It's not like SEMA is a hidden orgination or something. It was announced publically, at a conference, to thousands of people. Not like some asian dude said "don't tell anybody, but we are gonna be bringing stuff to the states soon." They said they would have stuff here by the end of 2002. So they are little behind schedule, nothing to cry about.

Fred, rumors haven't been here for 2 years....it has been *official* for a year and a half. Read my above post. This is not a new confimation....they have been *official* since october 2001.

Again, I'm sorry for those who are just hearing for the first time. It is not my intent to disapoint you in any way. I just simply want to make sure people know that this is not a new thing, and they have been working on getting parts here for some time now....which actually means it's closer around the corner than you may think.

Okay, everyone. For Cheese's sakes.....

I received a memo confirming that Nismo parts will be available in the US Market, without having to order them through a catalog. This will start with the next business quarter. That is all...............

TRANSMISSION ENDED

"The North American NISMO branded parts will cover three areas - NISMO Performance Parts designed for Nissan vehicles, Infiniti R-Spec performance parts, and NISMO racing parts designed for off-road/race-track usage. NISMO will also offer performance parts for current and previous model Nissan and Infiniti vehicles."

Too bad they're getting rid of z31 stuff though.

Picked up a nice NisMo 26mm front sway bar for $30 though :D

Oh well, my car is setup already so no need for more parts... well, maybe ANOTHER set of tires...grrrr

Hopefully nissan will continue to produce performance orientated cars too. No one will run a sentra nationally due it's crappy 6 speed gearing. Nissan, put at 5 speed in the S-ER spec v!

That would make for an awesome GS car!
