I was window-shopping on wholesalehyperformance.com and noticed the SSR Competition wheels (Type-C) that tire-rack carries. I just wanted to verify the offsets that they had. YOu mentioned to me before that the 8" comes in a 38mm or a 48mm. The wholesale hyperformance website had other offsets such as 30, 35, 40, and 45. SO do they come in those offsets as well, but tire-rack just has not done any test fitting on those offsets for s-14's?

Also...does tire-rack have access to the SSR Integral GT2 wheel? just curious.

Thanks!

jun

These are the sizes and offsets they are made in.

15X7 5-114 ET42 15X7.5 5-114 ET43 16X7.5 5-114 ET42 17X7.5 5-114 ET42 17X7.5 5-114 ET42 17X8 5-114 ET38 17X8 5-114 ET48 17X8 5-114 ET48 17X8.5 5-114 ET30 17X8.5 5-114 ET30 17X8.5 5-114 ET42 17X8.5 5-114 ET42 17X9.5 5-114 ET42 17X9.5 5-114 ET42 17X9 5-114 ET55 17X9 5-114 ET55

The Integral has been discontinued for over a year now and we will not be handling the GT2 model due to finish issues.

How would the 16X17.5 +42 look on my s13? Fairly flush?

That would be well within the wheel well. They would not be sticking out past the fenders or anything.

Grant...I borrowed part of your statement from another post and wanted to know if this was the case with the GT2 model.

Also...out of curiousity...any opinion on whether an S14 will have any issues trying to squeeze the 17X8.5 5-114 ET30 size in the rear with maybe just a 235-45-17 tire?

Would a 15mm spacer be good? W/o fender clearance issues?

The finish issue is the main problem with the GT2. The bare alloy is going to pit very quickly and would require a lot of care to keep it looking nice. Much more so than a clear coated wheel. The largest I have seen work is an 18X8.5 ET35. A 30 would move it out about 1/4". As for the spacer, we have never used them and we would not suggest doing so. None of these are designed to use a spacer. The need to center with the ring right on the axle hub.

How hard would it be to have the wheels powder coated with clear? Or some other type of finish? Is it really that hard?

Powder coating the wheels would require heat to cure the finish and that will affect the alloy. If they were available in a finish that could be maintained with a reasonable amout of care, we would be selling them. :(

Would 400 degrees really affect the alloy that much?

Because I really want the SSR Professors. It won't be on a daily driver, so I'll probably get them regardless.

But, when you say they will suffer, do you mean that they will get knicks and scuffs from road debris, or that weather will affect them. Because, they will never be driven in the rain and taken care of religously, and also be garage kept.

Yes, that high of a temp will affect the alloy. If you decide to go this route, take the wheels to a shop where they can spray on a clear coat finish to seal the wheels. That would be a lot safer. The problem with a lot of these wheels is the small bolts that can't be removed to do that.
