I'd like to know if anyone has any experience running an SSR Type-C on the street? I would be running a 16" with 205/55 tires. Besides the obvious pothole debacle, has anyone had any issues?

16x7 +30

And I should clarify: issues with bending and reliability for street use.

SSR is probably one of the top 5 (if not top 3) wheel brands in Japan. You don't need to worry about their durability. But any wheel can break if it hits something hard enough.

And that size you listed sucks terribly for a 240sx.

It would still be massively sunken into the wheel wells, just like stock wheels. And it's only half an inch wider than stock s13 wheels, so thats not much of an upgrade. Who cares if the brand and the style of the wheel is the hotness if it's sized for a FWD car? (which those sizes are).

You can click my sig links for more manly sized wheels fit for 240's. I recommend something along the lines of 17x9+20 for starters...

+25 and +20 on 7 inch wide wheels fits flush with the car. So, +30 isn't bad and they weigh only 12lbs. I will admit that an 8 and 8.5 inch wheel would be my preference, but I can't justify adding unsprung weight to a car that has 155hp. Narrower wheels will give better gas mileage as well, I think.

When I'm resonably certain I can swap an engine in the car legally, maybe then I'll buy bigger wheels. However, I'm pretty sure 205/55's can hold down all that stock power. :)

where did you get that information? because its WRONG, if you are 4x4 status then it may LOOK flush, i have 17x8.5 +20 an inch and a half wider and they're still slightly inside the felderwells. Ill prove it

By the way, I'm not opposed to a larger wheel, but only if I can justify any non-aesthetic gains by doing so. I believe my stock wheels are 16lbs, so any lighter wheels or wheels of the same weight are ideal. Also, I'm still running 4 lugs. Actually, it looks like you're running 4-lugs too... I'm just burnt out trying to squeeze water from a rock in terms of performance for this car.

I didn't agree with your logic before, but know I see where you're coming from. It's not the approach I'd take, but I understand your perspective now. Carry on. lol
