Your link seems to direct only to the tirerack home page. But SSR's are of good quality.

Is this the GT3 you were talking about? It'll be a pain trying to keep around the rivets clean.

The color on a slate would look good. But, cleaning those rivets will be a big headache!

SSR is a very reputable brand and they're forged lightweight wheels, which you can't go wrong with. Forged is the only way to go! Well, at least here in Hawaii they are because of the 10 million potholes we have from all the rain. What tires are you going with. Can I suggest Falken FK452 because I feel they are the best bang-for-the-buck tire out there. I know tirerack doesn't carry them though.

Oh yeah, what size are you going with anyway? And just give you a heads up, an offset of between +38 to +45 on 18" or 19" should clear easily. You should be able to clear with a +35, but depending on tire size and drop, you may see some rubbing with larger diameter wheels.

You know all this too well... I really appreciate it. I was at America's Tire Co out here in San Jose Ca. At first I was gonna go with the Motegi DV5 gun metal wheels and then he showed me the SSR GT3 and i am not really into the open spoke wheels because of the hassle of cleaning them, but they really caught my eye. I am getting 19"s, the recommended offset they said is +35. They did recommend the Falken tires to me too. I will probably pick them up then. The whole package for the wheels and tires are probably gonna run me around $2200. What u think???

Check this out regarding the SSR's... this guy may have just been a bad driver (driving over potholes and whatnot) but in any case, thought this might be of interest!

They may have recommended +35 offsets, but if you plan on lowering your vehicle, then +35's may not be the way to go... if you don't plan on lowering it, you'll be fine!

Yeah, i saw that post on bimmerfest and that kind of freaked me out. that was really the only bad post i have really read about these wheels. I think i am going to take the risk and get them. They do offer warrantees for these wheels right???

Wow, that's the first negative I've ever heard about SSR's. I don't know what that guy did to those wheels, but being forged, that shouldn't have happened! If you look on your local craigslist, I'm sure you'll find a bunch of people selling older SSR's which are still in great shape. They usually last the life of the car, and thensome.

If the wheels were $350 a piece, $2200 w/Falken FK452's is a fair price. The FK's usually run about $135-$150 a piece, so it sounds about right. That price includes mount/balance, right? See if you can have your old TPMS installed at no additional charge.

There really is nothing you can do, other than order different size tires, like 225 or 235! Ask Eduardo (edonissan) about his setup.. I've seen it in person, and 245's with a +35 offset and a 1inch crop is not a good idea IMHO.

I changed the tire width for the rims I want for just this reason. I'm going with 20 x 8.5" rims and instead of going with the normal 245/35/20 tires, I'm going with 225/35/20's. With these, mu tire will only stick out .6 inches more than they currently do and I'm keeping my fingers crossed about those surviving the drop (+ bumps)

Hey, why not just go with 18's? You can run 235/45/18 and it'll be exact factory specs as your OEM wheels/tires. Not only will the ride be smoother, the tires will also be cheaper. And you definitely won't have to worry about rubbage. Just a thought.

You're right Eric, and this was my debate. The rim I wanted only comes in 18's and 20's. The 18's are +42offset and the 20's are +35 offset. I know the 18's would fit perfectly, and the 235/45/18 would be exact OEM specs, but that 45 profile tire is just too fat for what I'm looking for.. Also, even with a 1" drop, I don't think you can tell the difference between 17" and 18" rims. In the end, I'm choosing to go with looks. But I debated over this for months!

regardless of forged or not...hit a pothole at the right speed...the pothole will win hands down; and I'd bet money he had low tire pressure in that tire. If there was a side view...there might be a few bubbles right above the cracks.

$350 a wheel for 19" = good deal...I'd buy um cause that's right around dealer cost.

I have a few sets over 16+ years old that haven't failed me yet...and I ran the ish out of them on my Corolla.

Going with something a little different.. their called blackchrome. You very rarely see it! Also, I'm going with the Boss motorsport 318's.

http://www.bossmotorsports.com...d=277

Now I'll admit these don't look very good on screen, but in person, I love them! They're not for everone, and they're a hell of alot heavier than most would want, but I've had my eye on them for months, as I mentioned, I was deciding between these in 18", 20", or the 20"Konig black and chrome Hotswaps!

I like the BOSS blackchrome because when you see it in person, you have to look twice. They really play tricks on you because you can't tell what the finish is.

They actually look pretty good even on screen. It has a very clean look, which I prefer.

I don't know about now...but the Boss brand had a lot of issues with their chrome and overall quality of the wheel. had to warranty like 4 sets in the past cause the casting had bubbles in it causing the rim to have a small leak.
