hey grant,i planning to get those ssr competition wheels on tirerack and i am wondering what offset do u guys have. I am gonna put them on my s14 and i want 17x8.5. What offset for that size would clear the z brakes?

We have never test fit an 8.5 on a car with a Z brake conversion so I can't say for sure what offset is going to work with that setup. Normally we match wheels with the correct clearance behind the spokes rather than mess with the offsets to make it work. The SSR Comp is only made in the 5-114 with an ET42 ($389.00) and the SSR Competition-H is made with an ET31 ($439.00). The H is the bright silver with machined lip finish and the regular SSR Competition is available in both bright silver with machined lip or anthracite with the machined lip. The 42 may work but I don't know first hand. These do have quite a bit of clearance behind the spokes for larger brake setups.

Is anyone running 17X8.5" fronts now that can give us some info on tire sizes? This seems like a very tight fit. First hand experience need here please! We are looking at an ET 42 wheel and from what I gather, stock suspension.
