1. you can change the sound inserts on the BOV. anyone done this before...what kind of effect did it have (also how does it sound with no insert)

2. any issues with leakage or excessive red light idle issues?

thanks!

The SSQV is adjustable so that it takes more or less vacuum to open it. It didn't make my car die once. The stock BOV made it die at every stop.

Mine has been leaking a lot though. If I try to blow through it with my mouth and poke the valve on one side it won't close all the way and I can blow through. I tried to spray lithium grease to get it to seat more easily and that lasted for a day. Today I took it apart and distributed the grease evenly, hopefully it lasts this time.

No leak issues at all. I had an ARC type 3 that would leak all of the time, but it was designed to be recurriculated anyway. The purple insert is a lower tone, that sounds really cool far off. I have never heard the gold tone, but it is supposed to be more sharp of a sound. I am actually switching to a recurriculated setup once my stainless intake tube gets here. Downshifting, the SSQV is open the whole time, so braking into a corner, it can bog on throttle on the way out. Not a fast way to get through a corner, lol.
