96Q just back yesterday for new fuel pump and noticed after leaving Infiniti dealer that remote access from key not working.Change battery today with no luck.So taking back to dealer. Any clue what they might have done while the car was in the service bay besides trying to convince this customer to buy a new Infiniti.

Expecially if they disconnected the battery, they should have reassociated the remote.

What do you have against San Diego? Too warm?

This will work.

From Q45.org

SERVICE PROCEDUREWhile sitting inside the vehicle:1. Open the trunk.2. Close and lock all doors.3. Insert and remove the key from the ignition six times within 10 seconds.4. Manually unlock and lock driver's door once to enable "setting" mode.5. Push lock button on the new remote controller once, just long enough to hear it beep, within 5 seconds of completing step 4.6. If additional remotes are needed (up to 3), repeat steps 4 and 5 for each additional remote immediately after programming the first remote. (Note: a total of four (4) remotes can be programmed to function on the same vehicle). For additional information, please refer to page BF-38 of the 1993 and 1994 J30 Service Manuals; page BF-17 of the 1993 G20 Service Manual Supplement; and page EL-148 of the 1994 Q45 Service Manual.

That procedure did not work. Tried many times.Took car back to dealer and tech could not get it to work either. They did not disconnect battery.Scheduled to take it in and they are going to look at the key ignition. PITA

Considering the remote control brain is up under the rear deck and its antenna is in rear window, I wonder if they knocked a plug loose while they were in that area dealing with the fuel pump?

Boy that sure looks like it could be the case and I think they know it, as the service manager kind of intimated that the key might not have worked when I brought the Q in. Mentioning that when they washed the car that person noticed that the key did not work, (almost blaming the kid who washed the car) for not notifying the 'higher ups' of this minor problem. But out of their continued 'service quality' they will fix this problem for free.So since they have the rear deck open again, they can install the new FPCU that I'm purchasing from Joe, gratis of course.Just a note, not one person in all the time I spent in the dealership did I see one possible customer, and this dealer is in the heart of Google / Oracle/country. Scary!!

When was the last year the Q45 remote beeped? Very early 1994?
