I was browsing on ebay the other day and stumbled upon this company. I was looking at a CA18DET 89+ NISSAN 3" COMPLETE TURBO BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM S13 180SX CA18DET UKDM for US $295.00 only on 1 bid. Has anyone had any experience with them or there exhaust products like manifolds, dump pipes, etc. and thier quality/craftsmanship?

Alternatives to this?

Have you been living in an igloo without internet for 2 years?

"SS Autochrome crap" is one of the most commonly used terms on forums.

Try it in Google, I just got 26 hits...

They are chinese made, unreliable product. But they look ok and cheaper than making them yourself.

The flanges aren't accurate and must be marked and cutout by 5 year olds with a oxy torch.

The dump pipes aren't true 3 inch dumps (actually 2 3/4inch), so suit a standard Nissan frontpipe.

Yea, SSAC has been around for a while. As for their products, they're OK. I'm running their exhaust mani, and have been for a while w/o a problem.

Good exhuast to tide you over until you can afford a better one. According to Greg (AZHitman) they have cheap packing that will break up and settle after only a few thousand miles. I wonder if anyone has had it for long enough to see if rust is an issue. My old Apex'i N1 that I had on my FC even had rust problems. My current HKS HiPower is in perfect shape after 1.5 years of hard living. BUT it did cost more than 2x as much as the entire SSAC setup, and it is just a catback.

You get what you pay for man.

Ill be honest with you, i have heard of them and been seeing them online, forums, ebay, etc. and figured they werent a very good company to deal with. I like going by the old "you get what you pay for" line because its true and ive had to learn it for myself before. Just wanted to kinda finalize my decision before i get any dumb ideas yaah know. lol. But they do "look" like great buys but i guess that is how they get you. Im sure there is exceptions but obviously its not worth it. Thank you fellas for the input.

My downpipe turned out fine. True 3", and perfect fitment. The gaskets that came with it are **** though. But alot of guys including me use their fmic kits with no problems. If you get one just make sure you pick up a s14 kit, cant beat it for the price. I don't have any exiperience with their manifolds but them seem to be hit or miss.

I dont know about that thread about customer service, I bet you that kid isnt telling the whole truth. Also whenever I needed to reach someone at SSAC they responded usually within 30mins after emailing them, I've emailed them probably over 20 times always with a response. The only time they took awhile to respond was on a Sunday which I've gotten a reply about 3-5 hours after I sent them an email.

Also some of their products are pretty good in quality construction since they are made by the korean company called Motoria.

I have their 3" downpipe and fmic kit. Had them for about 2000 miles over 2 months and no problems yet. I would stay away from the exhaust mani becouse alot of people say the welds are weak. As for a cat-back. go for it. Its just bent pipe and a muffler. Afraid of rust spray it with rustoleum. Bad packing in the muffler. Buy a universal apexi n1 and have it welded after the old one goes out. You cant beat it for the price. Im going to be ordering one soon to complete my ssac trifecta. Aslo want to ad a handfull of 240 guys in my area have the ssac cat-back on KA's and SR's and they have no complaints. Looks pretty good too. Nice angle out of the back.

i have never once had them respond to dozens upon dozens of emails or faxes, not even purchase orders where all they had to do is call me and confirm the order and get my CC number. i will not do business with anyone that refuses to speak to me in person, especially when i am willing to order a few thousand dollars in specific parts.

Isn't that the truth. They never responded to any of my emails or inquiries.

Some of their products are alright. From what I've read, their exhausts are made by motoria. Something like an exhaust or downpipe would be fine from them, but I would steer clear of things like their top mount manifolds and turbos.

I have had three different exhaust from SSAC and I just purchased the turbo back exhaust that was mentioned initially. All the exhausts fit with no problems. They shipped the last one on Friday and was at my box on Monday all the way over here in Germany. I haven't had any problems with them except for the correspondence after you have purchased something. During the auction I have always had responses, afterwards you can forget it. I also had fitment issues with MY exhaust mani but others have had no problems.
