I personally would not use that kit, but you can try it can let us know. As for the intercooler. I know Road Race Eng has them for the DSM guys, but I don't see any reason you couldn't get it to work on your setup. http://www.roadraceengineering...s.htm . You can also get one from any list of intercooler makers like Griffin, spearco, bell, garrett, and so on.

Unless SSAC has made some changes.... I would NOT go with this kit.

You get what you pay for.

THE ONLY SSAC parts I would buy would be something that:a) doesn't require much R&D to produce wellb) doesn't have much mechanical stress/heat being inflicted on it

ssauto has improved some of their products...but they still arent fantastic by any means. I would strongly suggest taking your turbo to a machine shop and having them check out all the internals and rebalance it.

what other problems have you guys heard of besides the turbo. I figured it was pretty cheap stuff but the manifold has a life time warranty and in the future, i can bolt up any t3/t4 right?

my cousin and i put the ss auto chrome kit onto his 89 crx. The ehaust mainfold was a good fit and soo was the turbo. We had to custom fab the intercooler piping and exhaust. So far it's held up it's end of the bargain. Only boosted up to 10psi. IT has been great soo far. No crackin of the manifold and i have to say the turbo isn't too shabby. It gets boost around 2700rpm. Hate to say it but it's damn good for us.

on the RB25 manifold it looks like they copied the Exhaust gasket to make the flange, problem is the Gasket fits tightly around the Studs. You must drill out a few of the holes for the manifold to fit correctly. Also I beleive most or all 5 bolt exhaust housings will not fit, or atleast mine was nowhere close to fitting because of where one of the bolt holes is located. You may be okay with a V-band or a non-internal WG housing.

Good luck getting a hold of them for that warranty. I have been trying to get a replacement diaphragm for my W/G for about 6 months now. Seems they only reply when you are interested in puchasing something.

yeah like eh? said you have to grind out some of the stud holes for it to fit.. Also eveyone says they're bad, but besides that one thread where the compresor fell apart, and that one manifold that was not braced, I've not seen of others that have done the same.. They're main problem is not getting back to people and try to solve the problem and make good one their warranty.. I remember back when Venus was known for the same thing but now since they work with their customers if they have a problem they're great( they sent my friend 3 diferent ecus for a swap, on them). With as many units as SSA ships out and at the price they buy them I don't see why they dont just take care of their complaints and build a good reputation... There are garrett, hks, precision and other makers out there that do send out defective products ( without knowing) but no one says anything bad about them because they warranty their products and take care of the customers... Those couple of cases where their product went bad and they didn't take care off is whats hurting them right now. just 0.02 cents.

Im probobly gonna go with this kit too, turbos are old technology, and IF it spits compressor blades in my engine, oh well its not like i payed alot for my rb20 haha.

Keep us updated on this kit

I wish I could go with some so cheap. I did that once on one car and never again. I had a chronic exhaust leak that just killed power all over the place. I'd rather pay for quality and not have to worry about stupid things like exhaust leaks from a cracked manifold. No thin walled stuff for me, I'll take cast.

if you guys want a more affordable quality turbo, buy a Master Power turbo. be sure it's the real one from Brazil, as SSAuto try to knock off on these turbo also.
