Trying to find a mid-ranged priced turbo manifold without luck I wanted to see if this idea would work out. From what I read the SSAC manifolds crack because they are made of dissimilar metals (SS piping and mild steel flanges). Would it be possible to have the flanges cut off and have SS flanges welded on in place and also add some bracing? This way the manifold would expand at the same rate. I would also be running an exhaust flex pipe. Im looking for a manifold that could support a larger turbo (GT35) and still stand up on a daily driver car.

There's no reason to go through all the trouble. It's just irrational thinking that you can yuppie fix a manifold originally designed by monkeys. It's like living in a single wide trailer and expanding on it to make it look like a regular house.. it'll always be a trailer. It's always going to be a horrible manifold. It's not quality in any way. Sorry.. but that's the truth. Don't like to see people compromising when it comes to this stuff. Buy a nice manifold and be happy.

mild steel flanges are not the reason ssauto manifolds crack. It is common practice to use mild steel for manifold flanges.

Does anyone have any experiance with this manifold?http://cgi.ebay.com/RB20-RB25-...wItem

It looks to be better quality then the SSAC manifold. The only problem would be the shipping from Australia

There are companys that can make you a manifold. Protech, Love FAB, Full race, peak boost. Protech is making my manifold for my RB20. It's not going to be cheap since I'm going with a true equal length with a merged collector. If you email them and tell them what your looking for maybe one of them can work with you to get you what you want.

Same manifold as SSA. IF you're gonna buy a cheap manifold buy this onehttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1 for $89 I wouldn't spend more than $100 for that manifold.

I may just end up using the stock manifold with an external wastegate until I can afford a better quality manifold.

Can you post a pic of the adapter? I was just going to have a wastegate flange welded on the top of the manifold and use a spacer for the turbo.
