I tried searching and could not find it, but is it possible to attach the SS line for the turbo on the back of the head while the head is in the car? or is it an act of futility? if it is possible, any advice?

I made the decision to install SS lines AFTER I had the head on the car. Now I'm stuck with the challenge of removing the line on the back of the head and attaching the SS one. This is on a S13 blacktop.

Also bear in mind, I have AC in the car and the AC lines, along with other crap, clutters up the back of the head.

If it has been done, I'll go for it, but if it has been tried, and failed, I will wait til I have the head off again.

Thanks,Token.

I just took a look and if you disconnect some stuff(coil plug wiring) you might be able to pull it off. if you loosten the transmission mount you might get a little more space if you jack up the transmission. Ive never done this, it was just an idea.

I think I heard somewhere that the s14 sr has the coolent line to the turbo on the passanger side water neck. That would seem the way to go with the head on if I'm right.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking when I ordered the SS lines about the fact that the head was already on. I will probably just wait til the head is off again, as I'm ready to get the car up and running and this will just delay/aggravate me further.

I dont have a/c but I got it done. U will need two people to do this. All u need is a long 45 degree needle. U can get to the clamp on the passenger side. U have to wiggle the plied through the wires to get to. However there is no angle to slide the clamp so that when the second guy comes in. Basically one guy squeeze the clamp and the second guy pull on the hose. To install the new one all u need is a very long skinny flat head and u can get it on the top. Its easier if u remove the brake booster hose for more angel

Thanks! I'll take another look at it and see if its possible. The AC lines are a PITA as far as room goes back there. Plus, on my driver side, I have this strange block on the firewall that is just screwed in and serves no real purpose. It looks like its to keep the hoses, etc. from falling down behind the engine, but it doesn't look that important so I might just remove it.

It made putting the head on in the car a PITA.

Going to see what I can remove/re-route so I can clean it up a bit and make more room, then I might attempt it.

Thanks again.
