I got myself a cheapy-exhaust manifold. I know how much this board has stressed buying a quality manifold, but i simply cant afford the manifolds you guys suggest as 'quality'. Anyway, i got it for next to nothing with a clutch/flywheel that i needed.

So, I want advice on how to make it last. The Runners are 2.75mm thick, evenly bent with no welds in the runners themselves. The flange welds are thin, but even and well beaded.

Should i cut the flange between the runners? Get it re-welded? Heat wrap it? Have it coated?

I already plan to make a bracket to support the weight of the turbo.

Thanks for any advice.

sweet! I bought an ebay one after my JIC went to Sh$&. I'll be trying it real soon like. I need to post some pics of my JIC manifold. I'd still like to know why it cracked all to hell. Did I mention you can see daylight in it if you look in through the turbo flange??

Just dont hit every branch on the way down the ugly tree. Just kidding. It was just a very funny question.
