Despite their turbo "issues", I was thinking about purchasing an intercooler from them. Any comments and/or precautions I should take before doing this? I am piecing together my own KA-T kit and am looking to get more bang for my buck. Open to any suggestions.

as far as performance, some will tell you, yeah its fine but only to ___ psi, dont expect ___ psi (or ___ hp) out of it since its so cheap. but the truth is, no one has conducted a real test comparing them to some of the more well known/more expensive intercoolers so everything said will be based solely on speculation.

i've held one and I can at least tell you the build quality isnt great. the mirror shine polish shown on the advertisement isn't all there on the real ic. there are scuffs, scratches, dents, etc. on teh end tanks. looks really halfassed. also, it seemed like it missed quality control, if they even have such a thing, because there were spikes on the inside of the intercooler (welding rod I assume) extending about an inch in some places.

Hmmm. I've began reading several posts and they range from "they suck" to "I've had no problems, so far..." I suppose with enough consumer ranting, you would think that they would do better as far a quality control is concerned (QC).

I've read some posts in the ka-t.org forums that SSAC have revised their turbo manifolds so that they will not fall apart during usage. I will look into speaking to a rep @ SSAC to get more info about QC and any revision based on customer reports.
