Well, after adding the boost controller, my ghetto intercooler pipes decided to pop off under any ammount of lateral Gs, no fun. Well I guess I need to finaly bite the bullet and get real intercooelr piping made. Now I have 2 choices that I know of. The first being to reuse my current aftermarket FMIC(3" in/out) and get a reducer or something for the hotside to match up. OR I can use this freebie SRT4 intercooler I have. The skittlecooler has only 2-1/2" on both sides and angles back twards the engine.

Skittlecooler's width/height is like a perfect fit behind the SOHC bumper. the whole opening would be full of intercooelr.

My current one seems better built and aftermarket (plus its still kinda shiny)but its not nearly as wide and about 2" of the top dont even get air because its above the opening.

what would YOU do?

I dont know wich to use, are the srt4 intercooler crap or would it be just right for a CA18 w/ s15 t28?

Another question is intercooelr pipe volume. Right now it has 3" cold side and 2 1/2" hot. Would making it 2-1/2 on both sides make it spool quicker or just make it worse? (like if I put a 3"- 2 1/2" reducer right before the throttle body)

Ioo many options, too little knowledge. I just dont know what to to or what what would be best.

Thanks in advance fellas! Any info is much apreciated! -Shane

I run a stock SRT-4 intercooler with the CA in my MG running 14psi on a sr t25 and it performs very well. No complaints whatsoever.

i have an srt4 FMIC, I will hit the frame rails on and S13, you have to cut the end tanks to make it fit or have it off to one side

when you cut the end tanks off, what did you replace them with? How much did it cost to customise it to fit? Thanks! - Shane

i was quoted 150 to cut the old end tanks off and out new ones on, I would not go this direction. you can buy a small FMIC off e-bay for less then $100 and you will bemuch beter off in the end??
