Well basically I've created this post as a chronicle of the progression of my 91' 240sx. Hopefully it will also serve as Q&A for anybody who is new and is wanting to venture into this type of project. Here are the basic specs for the car.

1991 240SX HatchbackKA24DE engine (I think it has a cracked block, spilled its oily guts)Automatic TransmissionBasically stock

Here are my plans for the car.

Here are some pictures of the patient:

Once the engine and transmission are taken out, I will be selling whatever parts are still good. So keep an eye on future post for items for sale.

I've allready begun the process of aquiring various components and parts, including the all important SR20DET redtop engine and manual transmission.

Here are some pictures of the engine and transmission. If you wondering about the blue cables, whoever had this engine before had a grounding kit on it, I will definitely be able to use this again.

Other parts I've allready received are as follows:

OEM Nissan Z32 Fuel FilterOEM Nissan S14 Water Pump assemblyNGK Iridium IX Spark PlugsNismo ThermostatKOYO Racing Aluminum RadiatorFlex-a-lite 210 electric Fan KitSamco TCS55 Silicone Radiator Hose Kit (Black)KOYO SK-C13 1.3 Bar Hyper Red Racing Radiator CapJDM Gauges (Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Boost)5 Speed Swap Kit (pedals, slave and master clutch cylinders, lines, etc.)

The process of taking out the old engine and transmission will begin next week sometime. I will keep you posted.

Well first of all, i hope they also sent you the ECU that goes with the SR20DET motor. Second, i've found this great write-up that will help you with the wiring.

I got my motor from a shop here in town who got it from somewhere around dallas. The reason I got it from a shop is because they guarantee the motor to be good, or they would replace it without having to go through all the hassles of returning it myself. It came out to about $2,200 after shipping and taxes. I didn't want to take a chance on getting an Ebay motor, so i was ok with paying a little extra. Doing this project in the winter isn't that bad here in texas, we only have had a few days of freezing weather, other than that, its been a mild winter.
