Hi guys,

I've just recently done a SR20VE head conversion on a SR20DET block. Just to check if the stock valves break easily at high rpm? I sent mine for a tune and ended up with broken valves in cylinder 1 and the valve guides across the cylinders were broken as well. Looking to upgrade to Supertech valvetrain set, are they good?

Thanks in advance

If they broke I doubt it was from fatigue or wear. What rpm did it see. Was there valve float? Sounds like you have a timing or clearance problem. Were there any contact marks with the piston?

Supertech makes decent valves. Sounds like you either had some timing maladies or something went seriously wrong in your valve train to cause that. They don't "just break".
