Hey I gotta red-top sr20det on the dyno right now, and i have electromotive tec-3 fuel injection for it. Im trying to tune right now, but im having some problems. The number 4 plug is black after I run the engine, either im losing spark in that cylinder or I have a leaky injector for that cylinder??? what else is possible on this engine? Also where can I get an english version of the engine service manual?? Even the entire car service manual, I dont care!!!! Anything???? All I have is the Japanese service manual, and I sure cant read that crap. Any connections on where I could buy one or who has one and would let me pay them to burn me a CD of it?

Do a compression test... are you getting spark/fuel to that cylinder or not? its not that difficult to tell. if your getting both, and compression test results are good... get the injectors rebuilt...

there is no s13 sr20det english manual as there were no s13 sr20dets outside of japan. since your using a standalone... you shouldnt need one. use a s14 fsm for mechanical stuff.

I've run a compression test around 165psi on all cylinders. I also pulled the #4 plug and cranked the engine while checking for spark, and it sparked fine then. where can i get an injector for my engine?? I'd rather not replace all 4 of them, but I know for a fact that it's a leaky injector, and it's affordable, then I could replace all of them, but id rather not. How can I check for sure to know if my #4 injector is leaking??? Just put a clean plug in #4 cylinder, leave the engine in the run position, pull the plug, and see if theres gas on it??? any other methods? I was thinking that maybe my coil was dropping spark to that cylinder ocassionally???? maybe? I've got my plugs gapped at .035.

tonight i noticed that my dyno was puttin some drag on my engine even when i told the dyno not to load it at all, so i fixed that and now the engine is obviously running better, but its still having the prob i described. My questions still stand, thanx godzilla

:flamer did you try switching the injectors and see if that takes care of it, and adds the same problem to another....that might be better than buying a new injector when you don't even know if that is it

that is a great idea, i just hope that i dont break any of the old injector seals while i am swapping the injectors as you suggested. Do u know where I can easily get injector seals for my engine if i need em? What american version engines at the parts store can I reference for the right injector seals?

So, in order to pull out an injector I have to take out the two phillips head screws for the little metal injector cap. Then what do I do to get the injector out once the cap is off? thanx a bunch
