sr20det wire harness splice

Is there any way of splicing the Wire harness from the ka24de so that it will work with the sr20det because the engine that I have the wire harness is cut right inback of th valve cover and could you run the sr engine with a distrubiter in it instead of the coils as a way to get by until I have money to buy a igniter chip for it?
