I actually just got a 240 about 2 weeks ago. I was wondering which engine is more advantageous. I have heard that the Ka24de is a risky engine to build with boost because of the long stroke, and that you might need low compression pistons, but then you lose torque which is what the KA24 is for. I just need some helpful hints. some one please drop me some help.

welcome to the boards, congrats on the purchase...

here's a helpful hint:

before you start asking general questions like this:

- there are several subforums on here - one for sr20det, one for ka24de, one for ka24det

- Read the stickies on those pages, should give you all the info you need and then some.

Both engines have their advantages/disadvantages - the vast majority of which is covered in those stickies & by searching.

This really has been covered quite a bit.

All that being said, it breaks down into personal preference.
