There are a couple internal differences between sr and ka trans. First, one of the shift forks is cast iron(I don't remember which one), and the syncro's are different. The ka trans has two 3-piece syncro's and the sr has three 3-piece syncro's. If I remember right, usdm s14 trans use three 3-piece syncro's. Other than that, it's a pretty straight up rebuild and a trans shop will have no problem doing it.
