Has anyone else broken the rear sub frame on their 240sx after installing a LSD?I'll give you guys a bit of history on my daily driver. After installing my SR20DET I decided I needed a LSD so I went with the LSD from a J30. Since the LSD had a ABS sensor on it I opted to go with a custom drive shaft so I wouldn't add pressure to my rear main seal. After a about a month I broke my new one piece drive shaft twice! Fumming I went to a company that builds drive shafts for 9 sec cars and ended up with this monster drive shaft guarnteed never to brake with my current setup. I threw it on and everything was great for about a month when I noticed my LSD bushing were worn out. When I got to the shop and put it on the lift my mechanic was amazed to see I had split my subframe in half. There was very little rust on my subframe. I ordered new bushing to repalce the factory ones and I'm having a junkyard subframe sand blasted and resprayed to cover my bases. Should I expect anything else to break? I'm thinking about going with 300zx axiles just in case.

300ZX axles won't work. They're too long.

I have no clue what you've done to your motor, so I will assume you've done some mild tuning and upgrading to it. There is NO way that you could split your rear subframe with a mild setup, or even a pretty hardcore setup. You just have had bad luck with defected parts. As far as aftermarket driveshafts go, depending on the manufacturer, the quality could be hit or miss.

If you want an upgraded axle, get J30 axles. They're thicker than stock axles, and they're the right length.

What are the odds. I also have a Sr20det swapped 240sx with a j30 LSD. my sub frame snapped right on the back of the differential. I actually just got the car back from Nissan and those ***holes failed to mention my sub frame was cracked all the way. (they were replacing the bushing on the differential).

I am getting another sub frame and having it cleaned but I am gonna call Hinson super cars for their sub frame reinforcement blueprints and have mine worked on.

ive got about 350tq with 20psi. with enough abuse it can break stuff but i cant see a subframe cracking. im more worried about my transmission instead of the diff/subframe area.
