im doing the swap and just have a question about valve cleareance I know its a complete bolt on swap other than drilling holes and wiring and stuff..but are the valve clearences the same on both heads does anyone know? just don't wanna get screwed because I already ordered my pistons and I just wanna make sure im still good..appreciate the help

No you need to use VE pistons. if you use SR20DET pistons you need to cut valve reliefs in them if you want to run anything bigger than the stock 2.0 cams.

Appreciate the reply xdo you.know what the stock relief is on the ve pistons.cuz im.doing. A complete rebuild and putting bigger cas with je pistons in.and the have a really good.relief in them so it seems like im good just would like to know the stock dish in the ve pistons

I don't know the dimensions vs a det piston. Prob better to pick up a stock VE piston and take it to the machine shop with your forged ones. I think JE should have the VE piston info on hand, they have built a few of them already.

here are a few pics of my cp pistons. I got them in 86.5 and 9.0:1. I'm doing a build too but haven't started, still need to pick up a short block.
