im having trouble with putting my sr in time..i put the crank in tdc and then follow up by taking my tensioner out..and placing the first cam at 10 oclock and the second cam at 12 oclock..put the tensioner back in..slowly hand crank with a rachet in reverse so that the hook on the tensioner pops off and the chain becomes tight...i then slowly hand crank the motor a few times over..till its at tdc and look at the cams and they arent at 10 and 12...every time this is my result.,,.chain is tight and not slipping...what am i doing wrong...any advice what so ever is greatly appreciated.

Are you going all the way back to compression stroke? If you only do one rotation you will be on the exhaust stroke which is not 10 and 12 oclock. Also you shouldnt have to go backwards.... It should unsnap the tensioner by itself. Tdc compression stroke well be excact opposite of tdc exhaust stroke.
