I am considering an engine swap on my 91 240sx. I was wondering about maintenance for the SR20DET. This is going to be a daily driver and I want to find out how difficult it is to maintain. Would I have to go specifically to the nearest speedshop? Can I take it to my local Nissan Dealer? Will I just have to not be lazy and do it all myself?

if you're talking about an oil change then you can take it somewhere just buy your own filter and take it with you. of course it's always better to do it yourself though. if some jerkoff at the quickie lube jacks your oilpan up putting the drainplug in sideways they will probably not reimburse you for an sr oilpan.

I'm just considering more that an oilpan. If I needed some work lthat I can't do. I can change the oil, the plugs, and all the filters. I'm just trying to think ahead. Right now it's my everyday driver and I'm just trying to anticipate the cost of a compressor for my A/C, or an alternator. Sometimes I just don't feel like figuring it out and doing it myself. And then there's getting the space to do the work in . I'm in Dallas in an Apartment in the middle of Downtown. No working on a car there.
