Thinking about picking up an SR20DET for my car .

Just had a few questions though :Should I get any machine work done when I get the engine (decked , honed , hot tanked?) . Should I replaced the valve springs and retainers ?

Im looking for reliabilty around 270 whp

I would recommend getting the head and block deck for a metal headgasket.

Welcom to the Magical world of NICO!!! Where we have this magic SEARCH button that will answer ALL your questions! When you research what power level you set for your SR20deT you will find out 270WHP would be maxing out the MAF and Injectors. The stock head gasket should hold 15 psi fine!If you want your Stock SR to last I say Keep it in the 200-250WHP range. You will LOVE your sr even stock! Good luck and remember the MAGIC SEARCH BUTTON
