my project 240 was just too aggervating to deal with engine wise because the old owner made it a big metel piece of crap and didnt take care of it so everything on it is rigged. so im deciding to do away with the entire engine and sr20 swapp it. i have a few questions. is this engine a good engine? ive heard good things as far as speed wise because i am going to take my 240 to strip. also is the conversion hard????im planning on doing it myself. i have done a conversion before i was just wanting to know if this was going to be a good fit or is it going to take some tweaking???thanks for the help people much appreciated

I dont really like flaming and yelling "search!" And Im crazy bored at work sooooo...

People will tell you the KA is better (stock 240 Engine) and people will tell you that the RB is better (skyline engine). But its really preference. I have a sr in mine and I love it. Parts are more easy to come by then the RB and are usually cheaper. As far as drag racing SR can easily get 13's.My car isnt a vert but I imagine the engine bay is the same as every other S13 (s13=89-93) so the SR will drop directly in the bay no problem. Heavythrottle.com sells some pretty solid kits that give you everything you need for the swap (including the engine).

The engine bays on all s13 240's/silvias are identical.

The sr20det is like any other engine... it has its good points and bad points, so I'll let you do the search and figure those out for yourself.

And the 240 was never meant to be a drag racer, so good luck with that.
