Hello everyone, I'm new here . Actually I'm completely new to Nissans. I'm thinking about buying a 89-93 240sx and then selling my 98 eclipse and buying an SR20DET for it complete with a 5spd transmission .

My questions are; how hard is it to do the swap ?

Would it require welding?

Also , how much power does the SR20DET make because I keep hearing either 205hp or 250hp .

As far as i know, no welding required. You do need to extend the engine harness a bit. The motor and transmission drops right in. With a 89-90 240sx your going to need the power steering lines and resivoir tank from a 91-94 240sx as well as the gauge cluster. The power pages in Import Tuner dynoed the bone stock engine @ 160, but with the basic swap mods i.e. intercooler, downpipe, fuel, pump etc. you can easily hit 205...easy. Someone posted their dyno @ 260hp with basic swap mods. Im planning on doing the swap myself pretty soon......which leads me to that wonderful search button up @ the top right. You prolly gonna get flamed for not using it. Just word of advice...
