I just bought a 240sx 5speed from an old lady wich bought it stock and kept it in her garage (2000$CND)

Frame is like new but the engine has 270 000 Kilos on it.

The stock engine is 2000$CND because I have to import it from USA (since there arent any in good state here in canada)

There is a JDM motor importation house in montreal that sells the SR20det for 1500$ US

If I want the car to be powerful but not totally tuned, since I'll mainly use it to go to work. ( i dont want to put a better gas pump or this or that)

I will need: -an Intercooler-3'' piping

Does anyone knows any place in montreal wich swaps engines cheap?

I had a price for 3000$CND for a swap and rewiring from the same house. Is it too much?

For the intercooler:

What size would be recommended. Cheap kits from Ebay are around 600$CND wich is very good compared to stock ones here. But they always come in 24'' x 12''x 3''. Isnt it too big?

I want to know. what will fit stock on the car and i wont have to bang my head or take out the credit card to fix it?

I want a car only to go to work, so I dont need extra cooling or extra anything just a nice old car with an almost new engine.

I checked parts on ebay and found these. Tell me what you think. Remember i want to drive not race so I only want it to make the job nicely.

if youre just looking for a basic swap, get the stock intercooler for under $100 us--probably more like $50, and definately DO spend money on getting the fuel pump. The fuel pump is going to be important in the efficiency of your fuel delivery system and you can get them where they plug directly in to replace the older one. You also many want to get another fuel filter, and you may want to think about 3" exhaust. this is a performance part, but it increases the life of your turbo by allowing it to spool freely and it will give a few more horses. You dont really need the front mount intercooler for a stock swap with no intentions of building in the future

Also if you decide to go with a front mount intercooler be sure not to get a cheap chinese one, look for quality or youll be pulling your hair out later.

do you think that the stock intercooler comes with the stock motor?where can I find some?Is the front intercooler that hard to install? Do I have to change clips or anything of the front body to be able to fit it in?

Ive searched about the 3'' piping and thats why i chose it. In the long run it wont kill the turbo.

Well, your going to kind of have to. Swapping in this engine and not upgrading the fuel pump is asking for trouble.

-the stock I/C may or may not come with your SR, it really depends on the seller.

-Look around all the nissan forums to find a SMIC for sale, I just sold one locally not long ago.

-FMIC - It depends what you consider hard to install. You'll need a good amount of tools. It will be much easier if you get a kit with pipes made for your car. These are more expensive, but will save alot of time if you dont want to make you pipes from a universal kit. I made mine from a universal I/C and pipes without too much trouble, it depends on your skill level.

-Depending on the I/C size, you will most likely have to trim some bumper off to clear the core. I also got rid of the bumper suppourt to clear mine.

-Also, when you go to FMIC, youll need an aftermarket BOV too, the stock one is built into the stock I/C.
