hey guys....im new to the forum here......lots of good info and help here....

so i'm in the middle of my sr20det engine swap...and faced with a big problem.....my car is a 92 240sx with hicas....the sr motor set that i have has a non hicas power steering pump......WHAT should I do.....your expert advice would be greatly appreciated.....

the two options that im looking into...is to remove the whole hicas system from my car and get a non hicas pump and lines or should i try to get a sr20det hicas pump and bracket....does anyone know if i just need the bracket or is the sr hicas pump different from my ka one....

thanx for any advice...i've already tryed searching but there really isnt any detail info on sr swaps into a hicas car..

thanks for the tip i'll look into it....but b4 i go out and start buying parts......can anyone confirm what parts i need to make this work.....is the sr20det hicas pump the same as my kade hicas pump....if so all i would need is the sr20det hicas bracket..??? am i right or wrong ....

sorry for all the noob questions.....

iirc, the sr hicas pump is different from the ka pump and has a different bracket from the sr pump. Have you checked out the nissan parts for sale section yet?

Gonna Lazarus this thread because I'm in the same boat. I bought a 93 with an incomplete SR swap but I didn't realize it was a hicas car until it was too late. Reason for that being that all the hicas crap had been cut off and tossed before I bought the car (along with everything north of the block except the crank pulleys -- so I couldn't tell what was missing just by looks).

I have searched high and low for a how-to on turning hicas into non-hicas, and all I can find is the general advice (getting sr ps pump/bracket, running stock sr ps lines, locking rears, bypassing hicas alert lighting to cluster).

Anyone know of such a how-to (pics would be wonderful, too)?

I'm basing everything on studying the FSM and reading these forums and I want to be sure I don't doosh the job.
