hi, i just swapped in my engine and i have a problem starting the car. when i turn the key, the engine tries to turn, then i keep pumping the gas pedal and the engine seems like it starts while it shakes a lot. when i stop pumping the gas pedal, the engine stops. what do you think it could be?

more info: i have the ignitor plugged in and the fuel pump is doing it's thing. there are also 3 plugs in front of the firewall and behind the battery that have no where to plug in.

only 3 things needed to start a engine

Check fuel pressure-

spark-

and air source... ex.. timing;

i found out that 3 of the four spark plugs spark. i replaced the plugs and swapped out the coilpacks with another one. any other suggestions would be great. =)

i found out that my swap isn't working because i have the wrong ecu. only 1 spark plug fires while the other 3 do not.

i'm running a redtop motor with a blacktop J4 ecu...

explains everything doesn't it.....

so i'm looking for someone willing to trade.

thanks for your help, i've gathered a lot of info in that time (s14 FSM, etc.)
