Hello, I have a Sr20de in my 240sx and I want to strap a blow dryer onto it.

I am thinking of using a t25 or t28 turbo since they came stock on the sr20det and are so easy to find over here and will be a bolt on affair.

My question is are the internal wastegates dependable enough to trust. I don't know what PSI they are set at from factory. I am looking to run maybe 12psi max if that on this turbo on this N/A sr20de. That should yield some good results. I have a Tial 38mm wastegate but if the internal one is reliable enough to use at those low of PSI then I will just use it for the time being.

I am worried about boost spikes or creeping. The turbo being on a N/A engine and spiking would = DEATH

They are both watercooled also I think the t25/t28 so would I be ok with not hooking up the water cooling lines?

Sorry to ask such dumb questions but I know nothing of the t25/t28 turbos I was a T3 and T4 person. I just chose this route because its Nissan proven and I know it will all just bolt up ^_^

the actuator that comes with either a T-25 or a T-28 will do a fine job controlling your boost at around 12 psi. If you want to go higher than say 15 psi, I would recommend an aftermarket actuator like the HKS ones. They are adjustable so by varying the length, you can adjust the how much boost your turbo will make. Obviously, you would also need some sort of a MBC to control the boost.

which is better to go with t25 or t28. I am guessing t28 would be better but I think you have to have coolant lines. Thats my biggest problem I do not want to run coolant lines.

with either turbos (T-25 or T-28) they both require coolant lines. I know that some people do not run them but I highly do not recommend that.

Turbos made for oil only have a large oil galley inside the cartiridge so that the oil can cool down the turbo properly. However, turbos designed to use watercooling as its method of cooling can't rely on just oil to do that job.
