Sr20det stock turbo problem, or is it???? pls help

ok so i recently picked up a 90 hatch 240 and had a sr20det put in. ran wonderful seems like there were no problems at all what so ever, recently during boost when the turbo is spooling there is a noise that doesn't seem normal coming from the turbo, sounds like the turbo is straining harder to spool or having trouble sounds kind of like a weird whining noise. recently i noticed though that it might not be the turbo although i really think it is. Need more info. What kind of noise is it. Can you record it?

Please describe more, video if possible. It sound to me like an exhaust leak near the turbo.

+1, I just had a similar issue and the gasket between the turbo and the manifold was on it's way out. More details of the noise will help though.

Its probably the turbo bolts have come loose and leaking past the gasket replace the gasket and get new locking tabs or reuse the old ones if there in good condition

I'm at work and can't view youtubez...

but if it was anything like the noise I had... I had a bad water line that needed to be replaced. Sounded like there was something was in my turbo or something for about a week, then all of a sudden I was leaking coolant from my turbo side... after I replaced it, it was good, no more sound.

check to make sure all the fittings are in there tight.

Def sounds like exhaust leak. Bolts could have came lose any of the gaskets around the turbo can be bad, I have even seen cracked turbo elbows do that.

yeah check for exhaust leaks..as long as it doesn't sound like a supercharger, your ok
